Week One Weigh In

After a week of trying to make healthy choices I have lost 3 pounds and  am down to 201.5. This is pretty good considering it has been a challenging week and I will admit that I overdid it a little too much. We had an outdoor wedding reception for a family member who had a small wedding a few months ago. Toward the end of the week I did a lot of cooking for the reception as well as cleaning for out of town guests. Needless to say, even though I did well for breakfast and lunch, dinners consisted of too many convenience meals and even a few fast food dinners.

One of my biggest weaknesses is that I am a huge procrastinator who tends to put things off until the last minute, only to find myself in a panic trying to get things done. I have decided that starting today my new motto is to “always be prepared” which I think is the boy scouts motto but works for me. I try to keep my house clean but I am the biggest pack rat when it comes to clutter so I am going to work hard at getting rid of things we no longer want and need. It is going to take a while but I am going to work a little at it every day. I want to be one of those people who has a home that is always ready for company.

Since I do have extra time this week I will post some more diet smoothie recipes. In the future I may start posting my menus to help me stay on track. I like posting my menus. That way when I get into a food rut I can go back through my posts to get some healthy meal ideas. In the meantime if anyone wants to leave a comment and share some of their favorite healthy dinner menus please do!
