Swelting Summer Heat
Many of us living in the northeast aren’t equipped with central air, so when the heat reaches the high 90′s many of us just can’t function. I will never understand those who say “the hotter the better”. I can’t stand the heat and find that I am very unproductive when it hits.
Those few days that it got so hot we pretty much hung out in the only room that had air conditioning. Even running out to make a sandwich was too much to bare. To make matters worse, we went away for a mini vacation for four days over the 4th of July and got to “enjoy” two picnics in the sweltering heat.
It is supposed to be another hot one today. Not as bad as last week but anything higher than 85 makes me crabby and if it is humid out on top of that, forget it! I won’t be able to function!
Of course eating healthy should be a no brainer right? While it’s true I don’t have a huge appetite in this heat I really feel like a sloth, not wanting to move around anymore than I have to.
Here is hoping for a somewhat cooler summer than we have had. If not I may have to invest in a kiddie pool, which is all my budget can afford :-/.
