My Basic Diet Smoothie Recipe
Here is a diet smoothie recipe that I make often. It is really very basic but I like it because it features my favorite fruit, strawberries and it has a healthy scoop of whey protein powder.
1 cup frozen strawberries, blueberries or a combination of both
1 cup low fat vanilla soy milk or skim milk
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
Add frozen fruit in blender or smoothie maker. Next add the whey protein powder and pour milk over all. Blend until smooth and drink immediately. Serves 1.
Like I mentioned before I really don’t count calories and calories will vary depending on the ingredients that you use but this diet smoothie recipe is only about 200 calories.
Tip: You can drizzle with a little honey if you like but I think it is sweet enough without it.
You can use a blender but I find that personal smoothie makers are much more convenient.
